WHEN: At 9:00 am on Sunday, May 16, 2010 (meeting just north of the RT 32 bridge over Liberty Lake) an aggregation of the minerally minded will gang up on the local crystal population. From: I-95 N at the Beltway
Merge onto I-95 N 11.4 mi
Take the exit onto MD-32 W toward Columbia 3.1 mi
Take exit 16A to merge onto Columbia Pike/US-29 N 9.1 mi
Merge onto I-70 W via the ramp to Frederick 7.0 mi
Take exit 80 to merge onto MD-32 N/Sykesville Rd
Destination will be on the right 10.3 mi

The mine is best known for its Malachite. Very nice, very polite.
WHO: Any and all members in good standing of any eastern federation affiliated club. Roanoke Club members also welcome (Special Dispensation). All bipeds under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Non-human bipeds must be registered.

Steel-toed Boots - required. Go out with the same number of toes you came in with.
Safety Helmet - a must. Good for flying stone and butting heads.
Safety Goggles - needed. See it coming and going.
Heavy Work Gloves - a necessity. See: Toes, above. Replace with "fingers".
Other Handy Objects - not explicitly solicited, but a good idea. Rock Chisels, Small Sledge Hammers, Large Sledge Hammers, Gargantuan Sledge Behemoths, Geologists Picks, Heavy Plastic Containers (for large specimens), Egg Cartons (for small specimens), At least one TurDuckHen, First Aid Kits, Snacks, Water, Plastic Sheeting (to protect the interior of your car) and full body armor, you can never be too ready for the apocalypse.
